Singer-Songwriters’ LaRhonda Steele, Bre Gregg (Red Bird), Beth Wood + Ara Lee James (Stand and Sway) are sharing the stage together for the first time to take on the music of their sheroes - - the women who inspired them to start writing.

In addition to the music written by LaRhonda, Bre, Beth and Ara; you will hear the music of Nina Simone, Carole King, Etta James, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, Patty Griffin, Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell. If you listen closely, you will hear undeniable influences shaped by hours and hours of listening and absorbing and feeling each lyric and each note of their favorite songwriters.

As part of this year’s Siren Nation Women’s Music Festival, this show is filled with feminine brilliance! With expert support from Leah Hinchcliff (the femme fatale of funk), Dan Gildea (one of the finest guitar players in the pacific NW) and Ward Griffiths (goddess of the back beat) on drums, this show is not to be missed.

A long list of who’s who in the local blues community will be taking the stage in November to show their support of longtime radio personality “Uncle” Steve Pringle who is suffering from stage four cancer.
BluesMania: A Benefit for Steve Pringle will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 5-9 p.m., at Roseland Theatre, 8 N.W. Sixth Ave, Portland. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $50 for reserved balcony, and are available at CascadeTickets.com or at Music Millennium, 3158 E Burnside St., Portland. The event will also feature a silent auction of music memorabilia, gift baskets, art and more.

Scheduled to perform are Rose City Kings, Kevin Selfe Big Band, Norman Sylvester Band, Karen Lovely with Ben Rice, Curtis Salgado and Alan Hager, Lloyd Jones, Lisa Mann, Jimi Bott and more. The event will conclude with a “guitar showdown” featuring special guests including Terry Robb, Robbie Laws, Ty Curtis, Peter Dammann, Tim Langford and more.
