Harpdog Brown and The Uptown Blues Band slated for First-Time Visit to Lake Oswego
Canada’s Classic Blues icon, Harpdog Brown is on the road again, and now he’s bringing a whole new show to Oregon.
Harpdog Brown has acquired a reputation as a real-deal purveyor of classic electric blues — think old Chess Records and Sun Records of the late 40’s and early 50’s. These days he’s been touring more and more as Harpdog Brown & the Uptown Blues Band — a vintage New Orleans Blues sound featuring slide trombone, keyboards, bass, drums, and often a sax and clarinet. Still a vintage vibe, but just a different vintage, and this music will move you! They perform mostly originals yet often include great songs of the masters from that era, e.g., Louis Jordan, Satchmo, Sonny Boy Williamson, Wynonie Harris, even Duke Ellington. Audiences are raving about this new show!
Harpdog Brown & The Uptown Blues Band will appear at The Lake Theater & Café, 106 N State Street, in Lake Oswego, on Monday, June 11 at 7:00 pm. General admission tickets are $20.00 and may be purchased in advance at laketheatercafe.com. Limited, special VIP tables seating four, closest to the stage can be reserved for $100.00.
