October 2021 General Membership Meeting

October 2021 General Membership Meeting

This month the Cascade Blues Association moves its membership meeting to the Spare Room Restaurant & Lounge 4830 NE 42nd Ave Portland, and returns to its standard format of spotlighting two different performances!

The first set will feature the past year’s Journey To Memphis Challenger in the solo/duo category, Froggy William Hyland (lap steel, harmonica, guitars, vocals), who performed as ‘The Geezer’ along with Louis Creed Peterson at the 2020 International Blues Challenge.
Froggy will have the honor of passing the Memphis torch to this year’s challengers, the winners of the 2021 Journey To Memphis, Sugar Roots featuring Chad Rupp. This band is made up of some very talented players including: guitarist Jason JT Thomas, keyboardist Sam Gendler, bassist Timmer Blakely and drummer Chandler Bowerman.

Masks, face coverings or face shields are currently required in all indoor spaces in Oregon, regardless of vaccination status, unless seated at a table. Converging studies show that wearing a mask can help protect both us and the people around us from spreading and catching COVID-19. It’s an empowering way for each of us to protect our communities, our families, and ourselves.
Entry requirements are subject to change.

Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding!
